Experience:
Merton E. Thompson, formerly an Associate at Burns & Levinson, was recently named Partner in the Firm's Intellectual Property / SciTech, Science & Technology and Life Sciences Groups. He concentrates his practice in intellectual property litigation, counseling, and licensing in the fields of computer hardware and software, medical devices, telecommunications, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, Internet, consumer goods and optics. Mr. Thompson counsels clients on a broad range of high technology related patent, trademark, copyright, and licensing issues. Prior to joining Burns & Levinson in 2003, Merton was an associate and co-founder of the Internet Practice Group at Fish & Richardson P.C., where he practiced in the areas of intellectual property litigation, trademarks and copyrights and Internet/Computer Law.
Mr. Thompson also has sixteen years of prior business experience including start-up, operation, and the sale of a technology company; as well as, high tech manufacturing and program management; and he has served as a director of a robotic technology company.
